You need to do a lot better to reach $1,000 per week. How? By picking your side hustle carefully.
When you care about your monthly income, you need to start with the end in mind.
Here, the end goal (for now) is to make $1,000 a week.
Instead of starting with what you like to do and what you have knowledge about, you must start with a side hustle than can make you $1K a week.
Do a quick brainstorm. Lawn moving? Nope. Dog sitting? No way. Driving an Uber? Nah…
Unless you want to spend 24 hours per day, 7 days a week working, you need to look at online side hustles only.
Only with them can you make passive income, which should be your long-term goal.
Short term, online services can get paid generously, too. When you pick the right services.
Let’s start with the short-term options.
The best way to make money with a service is to do high-skill writing.
It can be ghostwriting of books.
Or by using a combination of the copywriting skill and ghostwriting and do sales letters, write tweets or emails for people.
Ghostwriting of articles can be profitable, but is often only possible once you have a established a reputation. There are plenty of writing mills that use third world writers. You will have to compete with writers who make $2.43 for a 500-word article.
Hmmm…
This will not make you $1,000 per week unless you can write 206,000 words per week.
And if you can, you can definitely make more money in other ways. Passive income.
Here are better options:

None of these side hustles will make you money from day one.
And some have more potential than others. If you write romance fiction, for example, you can make a lot more than $1,000 per week if you write well and publish frequently.
Now, since we started with the end in mind and did not look at your existing skills or interests, there is one skill you should learn above all else.
You will need it for freelancing, which can make you fast cash and give you experience.
You will need it if you write fiction for writing your blurbs and descriptions.
You will need it to make people read your blog posts or articles and watch your YouTube videos.
And you will need it to sell affiliate products, your own products or services.
That skill is copywriting.
If you only have time or patience to learn one skill, this is it. This is the must-have skill everybody who wants to make serious money on the side must learn.
If I should pick only two methods that can bring you to $1,000 per week, they would be writing romance fiction and affiliate marketing.
If you right now say, “I know nothing about either,” then you must start by learning.
Learn just enough to get started. You will learn a lot more by doing than by learning alone. A good rule of thumb is to learn for an hour and then practice for another two hours.
Where do you go to practice?
Buy courses or books about writing romance. Read one chapter at a time or watch one lesson at a time.
Then practice what you have learned.
If you want to learn affiliate marketing, go to marketers who have mastered it and buy their courses. Make sure you pick ethical affiliate marketers and not one of the many scummy ones who will promote anything as long as it will make them money.

Independent of your skills and methods, there is another you must master right from the start.
Focus.
When you aim to make $1,000 per week on the side, you need to be laser focused on working towards it.
This does not just mean not checking email or social media when you are supposed to work. It goes much deeper. And you will struggle with this.
Keep your goal in mind.
You are doing this to make $1,000 per week. Always keep that in mind. That will make it easier (but still not easy) to overcome the obstacles you will encounter.
You will doubt your competence.
Can you really do this? Are you good enough? Others can, but can you?
This doubt is crippling.
You need to build your confidence skill to a maximum. Yes, you can do this. You WILL do this. So you will stick to doing this until you master it.
You will doubt the method you chose.
Did you choose to write fiction? Romance? What if people will not buy your books? What if you chose all the wrong tropes?
And maybe you do not even read romance and now you doubt how wise it was to choose that route.
Do not doubt. Do not linger. Stay on track.
And start reading romance in your spare time.
It may take patience to get to the point where you make $1,000 a week on the side.
It all depends on what skills you already possess and how much time you need to spend learning them.
Overall, spend as little time as possible learning and as much time as possible doing.
Be patient and keep focus on what matters. Before you know it… you’ll get there.
