It is easy to make $50,000 fast… IF you already have a business.
Imagine Jeff Bezos needs to make $50K quickly. Do you think that would be a problem? Probably not.
Do you think that someone with a great product and an email list of 500,000 subscribers can make $50K fast?
You bet.
But what if you start from scratch? If you have no assets right now. No world’s biggest bookstore or 500K list.
Just you and your urgent need for money…
First, we need to look at "fast" and "realistic." While it would be very realistic for a millionaire with a successful business to make that kind of money in a day (or less), if you are starting from scratch, "fast" will not be instant.
Fast in that scenario can be within six months. Or a year. It all depends on how you start and what you do.
I suggest you start with an online side hustle.
Why side hustle?
Why online? Well, there are many advantages of working online over offline. One of them is that offline side hustles often are hard work.
They include moving lawns, cleaning houses, dog sitting, driving an Uber or cleaning windows.
When you work online, your hardest work is often to type on your keyboard.
If you like writing, this will even be a joy for you. Do what you love and make money. How much better can it get?
With an offline side hustle, you are limited to your neighborhood.
If you live in LA, dog sitting in Miami for an hour every day would not be convenient.
But if you work online, you can make money from all over the world. As long as you have a computer and an internet connection, you are good.
Of course, you need something to sell, too.
And to make $50K, this means that what you sell must be really good and valuable to the buyers.
Filling out surveys will not do it. You need a high-value skill. And if you do not posses it already, you can get it.
There is one skill that will pay you extremely well.
It is the ability to write in a persuasive manner. In business jargon, it is called "copywriting." You may have heard that copywriters write sales letters.
That is true.
But in our days, there are so many other ways a copywriter can make money. Here are examples of areas where even beginning copywriters have made $10K during their first month:
Marketers need copy that converts in so many places.
Social media like Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. Their emails need to convert. And of course, to get people on their lists, their squeeze pages (opt-in pages) need to convert.
If you are on a shoestring budget, you can start learning this skill by borrowing books from the library or buying great courses.
Some of the highest recommended are:
If you want to get good at something, it is important to invest in building your skill. And this one can be worth a lot of money.
If it is worth doing, go all in!
This does not mean you have to spend 40 hours a week on your chosen side hustle. But it means doing it daily. And doing only that chosen one.
If you spread out, you will not make the $50,000 fast.
You need to be laser focused on your goal and do what it takes to get there. If this means selling your services before you feel ready, go ahead.
Use places like Fiverr or Upwork to find people who need your services.
Or become friends with them on social media, if you plan to write copy for them.
Do not start with a direct message (DM) saying, "Hi, I am a copywriter and I can help you."
Start by letting them get to know you. First with wise comments on their posts. Next by doing it persistently. And then first by doing a DM mentioning nothing about being a copywriter.
Nobody hires a sleazy person.
So you have worked on this goal for a week, and you are nowhere near $50K yet.
Do not give up. Even "fast" can take time. If you picked copywriting as your new skill, it needs work. And you may even need to work for less money to begin with.
Do not give it away for free, though.
Value your value. If you give your work away for free, people will see it as "free stuff" which are available everywhere. Sell your valuable work.
Good copywriters can easily make $10,000 just with one sales letter.
Or in a month by writing good Tweets for other marketers.
But when you are new, you will not find the top-paying marketers. The ones with expensive products and email lists that count millions of users.
You may meet beginners who just need a helping hand with their first social media account or their first product.
They do not have the means to pay you $10K. And you do not have the proof that shows you can make them that money back and then some.
You can help each other by you, offering your services cheaper, say, $500 for a sales letter or $500 for your first month of tweeting on X.
And they by having the need for your service.
Show what you are getting good at and give your customers value. Then ask for testimonials so you have something to share with your next customer.
And now you can charge a higher price.
Starting from scratch, you can make $50,000 fast by working on the most valuable skill online: copywriting.
You will not reach your goal in one month, but you will get there as fast as possible.
